Time When I Was Really Scared

When I think about that time I get scared even after 5 yrs. I lives in California and my rest of the family is in Canada. My dad had successful knee surgery for his both knees and he was completely fine. One night he got up to use restroom and felt half sleepy but still got up but he lost his balance and got hit by the corner of his sharp bed that corner hit his knee exactly at the point where he had surgery. He didn’t tell this to any family members and didn’t wake any one up , he was in terrible pain but still showed he is strong to handle , next day he didn’t come out of his room instead had food on his bed, my mother kept on asking but he didn’t answer. third day when he had fever my mother got worried what happened so she called 911 and then we all came to know when he shared and showed to paramedics that his knee was swollen in double size and severe fever and for that he took Tylenol only. They took him to ER and said infection has spread and need to do surgery and then later came to know that his infection spread so fast that they doctor have to cut his knee , my dad took the stand that he will not sign on any peppers to cut his leg . He refused . So doctors took out his already surgery part out which was metal that was doing infection in his knee , they put new one , after 1 month he got infection again in new knee replacement so they did replace new again , they did it 3 times but infection was not going away so they put some material which was like cement hard that made my father leg to be straight and he was like that for 1 yr and 7 months he was on I/v antibiotics, doctors didn’t want to take any of the chance with his life . After 1 yr doctor did another surgery and put the metal again and wanted to see his body response but he had silent heart attack during surgery that none could imagine since he was never a heart patient in his life but that happened on surgery table so but thanks to doctors team they saved my father . After 1 yr body again rejected for artificial Metal in his knee then doctors tried again after 6 months by putting him back on antibiotics so it was going on for 2 yrs and my father was on bed for that long period on strong medicines back to back and knee surgeries. I salute to those doctors who didn’t give up and salute to my father who didn’t leave hope to get recovery and did alote of physical therapy to make sure he is back to shape and walk independently. It was tough time for our family that we never forget .
